I’ve spoken before about our highly curated ‘little black book’ of suppliers where we keep track of the ones who share our values and have provided a high level of service. I wanted to give this example which perfectly demonstrates how this helps our clients in practice.
We were working on a community centre project in Birmingham, a big part of it was a youth project which would have a large new activity space. We specified Bolon flooring to add some texture and softness while still being durable.
When the team at the youth project saw the samples, they weren’t so sure. The woven texture gave them concerns about keeping it clean which was understandable. We know Bolon well so we were well aware of how durable and resilient the product was but the stakeholders still weren’t convinced.
So after a quick phone call to our rep at Bolon, we’d arranged a meeting with the stakeholders to perform a demonstration. The youth project came prepared with paint, glitter, biscuits, ketchup and Wotsits! They wasted no time in covering the flooring samples in the site office with a good mix of contaminants and crushed them into the surface before standing back to watch how the rep could possibly deal with this mess.
Then, they watched in amazement as the rep calmly showed them how to clean the flooring so it was good as new. The team were now convinced it would be an ideal flooring and even left wanting it in their kitchens!
This is why we spend so much time curating our supplier list and vetting the companies we work with. They’ve all been tried and tested over many years so we trust them to work with our clients to ensure everyone is happy.
